President Uhuru Kenyatta last week surprised United Republic Party (URP)
MPs, when he asked them to drop plans of impeaching Leader of Majority in
Parliament, Aden Duale, for insulting Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, a month ago.
The President, who had invited the
MPs for a cup of tea at State House, Nairobi, admitted that without Duale and the
Deputy President, William Ruto, it would be impossible for him to govern the
country.
“Ruto, Duale and I are the pillars of
the Jubilee Government. Without one of the pillars, Jubilee will crumble like
the biblical tower of Babel,” Uhuru said.
He said the opposition fears the
eloquence of Duale and Ruto and “it is like shooting at your own foot if you
try to impeach Duale.”
Duale was involved in altercation
with the Bomet Governor who is pushing for Pesa Mashinani initiative aimed at increasing
money in the Counties.
