UHURUTO Government has dismissed reports from some sections of the
media that it is funding some ODM party rebels to urge former Prime Minister,
Raila Odinga, to sacrifice his bid and support another candidate in the 2017
Presidential Elections.
Over 20 ODM lawmakers last week said
that the best chance CORD has of forming the Government is for Raila Odinga to
sacrifice his bid and support another candidate within the coalition — probably
one of his co-principals.
But Jubilee leaders led by Kikuyu MP,
Kimani Ichungwa denied that Jubilee is funding the opposition leaders
saying Jubilee supporters want Raila Odinga to vie for the
Presidency in 2017 so that they can humiliate and embarrass him
again as they did in 2013.
“We want that old man to vie for the
Presidency in 2017 so that we can send him to Bondo permanently,” Ichungwa said
while laughing arrogantly.
He said President Uhuru Kenyatta and
his Deputy, William Ruto, have already strategized on how to bury the opposition
in 2017 completely.
