Through his lawyer, Gideon Mutai, the witness, who had earlier withdrawn his testimony, told ICC judges that he was asking for a 3 -week adjournment to get his telephone records and expose the rot in ICC.

Mutai said the telephone history and mobile money transactions will show how ICC Chief Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, bribed the ICC witnesses using MPesa and bank transfers to incriminate Deputy President, William Ruto, and his co-accused, Joshua Sang.

“He will require making an application to the particular service provider and time will be required to have these records. He will get the records and adduce evidence that will help the trial chamber make the right decision on the matter,” Mutai said.

The witness also gave five reasons why he should not testify in Ruto’s trial. He said he was bribed, intimidated and forced to go to exile with his family and that is why he wants to expose the rot in the ICC.

However, Prosecution lawyer, Anton Styneberg, told the court that any payments made to the witnesses by Bensouda’s office were “above board.”
