Children of powerful political figures are known to live a fancy lifestyle and others like Raila’s son, Fidel, are trouble makers who spoil any party they attend.
But for Mike Sonko’s daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, she is just a simple lady despite her father being one of the most powerful politicians in Kenya.
She refused to follow in the footsteps of her younger siblings who go to international schools and joined a local provincial school in Nairobi.
“I went to a public provincial high school. I was supposed to go to University in the United Kingdom but I refused.” She says.
Saumu, who is humble and grounded with a heart of gold, evens shops for clothes at Ngara and Toi market. This is unlike other politician’s children who fly to Paris, New York and UK for shopping.
When she goes clubbing in the City, she behaves like a normal reveller and has never caused trouble.
She is also a darling of her fellow students at JKUAT’s Karen Campus where she is pursuing a Degree in Journalism. Few students in the institution even know that she is the daughter to the Nairobi Senator.
You have to give credit to Saumu because only a few children of the rich behave like this.
