Over the weekend, Al Shabaab massacred 28 travellers in Mandera. Just like past stories, the non-muslim were isolated and as then shot on the head.
The government as usual issued their ‘heartfelt condolences’, and claimed to have killed the perpetrators (information that is hard to verify). As a result of the attack, civil rights groups are planning a protest dubbed #OccupyHarambeeAvenue, for this Wednesday. Its aim is to compel those in charge of security to take responsibility, failure to which the president should fire them.
