The woman, who identified herself as Faith Vivian Otieno, claimed she was married to Mr Kajwang 19 years ago when Kajwang was a city lawyer.
“Let it be known that I am not his girlfriend but his legal wife. In fact, when she (Rose Kajwang’) was in the UK, I was the one living with Kajwang’,” she said.
The woman, who was first roughed up by ODM goons who had gathered at the home, claimed that she bore two children with Kajwang and she had been living in Langata Estate at a house Kajwang bought for her.
She said their first born is a 19 year-old boy called Ronnie Odinga Otieno, who is currently a student at Kabarak University.
Faith claimed Mr Kajwang’s wife has locked her out of funeral arrangements and she knows very well that she is Kajwang’s second wife.
The recently gazetted marriage law recognizes such union as legal marriage. If you live with a man or a woman and sire children together then the law recognizes that as marriage and so the burial committee has absolutely no choice but to follow the law and accord Vivian her status in the family.
Whether Rose Kajwang likes it or not, she has to live with the reality that she had a co-wife and a rude shock will hit her when property inheritance will commence.
Kenyans will see the spirit of that Law if Faith Vivian Otieno will be recognized as a legal wife during the burial and subsequent inheritance of Kajwang’s property.
More information related to Faith Vivian Otieno is truely Otieno Kajwang’s legally married second wife
