Raila Odinga, met
Bomet Governor, Isaac Rutto, on Friday afternoon in what is
speculated to be harmonization of the Governors’ and Okoa Kenya’s agenda for the upcoming referendum.
Speaking to the press after the
meeting, Rutto who is also the Chairman of Council of Governors said he met
Raila Odinga to streamline their call for a national referendum which he said
is unstoppable.
The Rutto / Raila meeting comes at a
time when Deputy President, William Ruto, is accused of deploying MPs and Senators
to attack the United Republican Party (URP) rebels including Governor Rutto.
The DP is also alleged to have
paid members of the Bomet County Assembly to impeach the Governor because he is
against URP’s party policy of not supporting the referendum.
Already, many Rift Valley Governors
have defied William Ruto and are secretly supporting Raila Odinga’s call for
the referendum.
