Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Executive Director, Magerer Langat,
has sent indications that he will quit the Orange Party next week after he was
roughed up by ODM goons during a CORD Parliamentary group Meeting on
Thursday
Addressing a Press Conference at his
office in Nairobi, Magerer said he is contemplating quitting ODM after he was
beaten by the goons who had blessing of the party leader, Raila Odinga.
Sources said Magerer met Deputy
President, William Ruto, on Thursday night and discussed ways of
quitting the Orange Party for Jubilee Alliance.
The former Kipkelion MP claimed that
ODM is unfairly targeting him and it is unwise for him to continue serving it.
“I hope our laws will protect us
against those who are still conformers of the status quo and as you saw
yesterday, are champions of impunity,” Magerer said.
Magerer also said he will not attend
the Orange Party Executive Meeting that will discuss the issue on Tuesday.
