New United boss Louis van Gaal is expected to
wield the axe this week, with the Mexican forward among those tipped for
the Old Trafford exit.
The Dutchman has
provided Hernandez, who was used sparingly during the club's pre-season
tour of America, with no guarantees of first-team football.
Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus are both interested in luring the 26-year-old to Italy.
But
having yet to hear from Van Gaal, Hernandez's father and agent,
Eduardo, said that his son's future remains very much undecided.
"One day he is nearing one team, the next day another, and it will be like that until the end of the transfer window," he told El Universal.
"The future? I don't know, he could stay or leave."
Hernandez has previous admitted his future may lie away from United with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order.
He said: "There are many clubs that want me, but at the moment I am a Manchester United player and it isn't respectful to talk about other teams.
"I don't know my future, we will see after the USA tournament."
