International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, has finally admitted that she has no witnesses to testify in the case facing President Uhuru Kenyatta at The Hague.
In a confidential letter she wrote to Trial Chamber V (b) on Monday, Bensouda said she has tried to beg over 40 witnesses to testify against Uhuru, but all have refused.
“Hon Judges, I have a problem with witnesses in Case II (Uhuru Kenyatta’s). Many witnesses have disappeared and recanted their testimonies and it is now elusive for me to prosecute the Kenyan President,” Bensouda wrote.
