Uganda Cranes hopes of making it to thee 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Equatorial Guinea went up in smokes on Wednesday after a 2-0 loss to Guinea in Marrakech, Morocco in their final group match.
The Cranes needed a win to secure second spot but started on the wrong footing when Ibrahim Traore's free kick gave Guinea the lead in the 23rd minute.
A second half penalty by Seydouba Soumah was the last nail in the coffin for the Cranes who looked a pale shadow of the side that beat Ghana 1-0 last weekend.
Ghana who beat Togo 3-1 topped group E with 11 points while Guinea finished second on 10 points. Uganda managed 7 points while last placed Togo had 6 points.
