A 32 year old teacher who was caught shoplifting at Maguna Andu
supermarket in Murang’a town has blamed the devil for his actions.
Stephen Njuguna Chege, a teacher at a nearby private primary school said the devil directed him to steal as he was hungry and had not eaten for three days.
Njuguna was caught stashing packets of formula milk and ground nuts in to his clothes.
He was spotted by the person manning the supermarket’s CCTV system who then alerted the security guards. When asked him to give them his mother’s phone number so that she can pay for the items, Njuguna kept on giving them some random wrong numbers which consequently resulted to him getting several slaps in the face.
