It is that time of the year when we get a good long break from our
daily duties and get a little time away to just be with ourselves or
family. Mashujaa day is here and there are hundreds of things happening
that you would want to engage in, but we have a few ideas of great
things you can do to ensure better productivity when you return to work
next week.
1. Take a road trip
Kenya is a great country with a lot of things to see and do in different
parts of the country. You could come together as friends and go out of
town for nyama choma or just site seeing. A road trip does not have to
involve cruising across the country, it could just be within a short
radius, you will be amazed what being out of your usual zones could do
to you.
2. Do an act of charity
While most people will take it to party, we forget easily that there are
those of us in society who are less privileged and we miss out a great
chance to give back. This weekend you could visit a children’s home, a
needy friend or participate in a community activity that will make life
better for someone else. You will have achieved more than just self
satisfaction, you will have helped.
3. Visit family
Nothing makes life as good as that feeling of belonging. Being with
family makes this complete, so this long weekend, especially those of us
who are everyday in closed offices and busy work schedules, take a day
or two and spend it with family.
4. Treat yourself to something you love
Gifts are great, but no one understands what you want and love than
yourself. This weekend you have an excuse to do exactly that, get
yourself something you have wanted in a long time. It could range
anywhere from jewelry to just a simple lunch.
Most importantly, ensure you do something you enjoy, and from us, have a great Mashujaa day.
